What does the job look like?

Linfox Intermodal have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Counterbalance Forklift Operator to join our high-volume Cross Dock operations in West Melbourne, VIC. Working within a fast-paced transport and logistics environment, you'll play a critical role in keeping freight moving safely and efficiently across our national network. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include loading and unloading trucks and freight containers, container re-work, manual handling activities, and supporting general cross-dock operations.

This is a casual night shift opportunity, working Monday to Friday, 6:00pm - 2:00am. Key Areas: 

  • Safely operate counterbalance forklifts to load and unload trucks, trailers and shipping containers
  • Re-work and reconfigure freight within containers to meet operational and customer requirements
  • Move, stage and prepare freight for onward distribution through the network
  • Participate in manual handling tasks and general warehouse duties as required
  • Maintain a strong commitment to safety, Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and operational compliance standards
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment

Are you the one? 

We're looking for a reliable and safety-focused forklift operator who thrives in a busy logistics environment and enjoys being part of a team that delivers for customers every day. You can demonstrate: 
  • Current High Risk LF Forklift Licence
  • Minimum 3 years' experience operating counterbalance forklifts
  • Experience loading and unloading trucks, trailers and containers in a transport, freight or logistics environment
  • Strong safety awareness and commitment to workplace procedures
  • Reliable transport and the flexibility to work night shift
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
