What does the job look like?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Load Planner to join our Intermodal team in West Melbourne. In this critical role, you will be responsible for planning and optimising freight movements across the rail network. Your ability to coordinate, analyse, and communicate effectively will ensure customer service, operational efficiency, and compliance are consistently achieved.

  • Maximise the revenue yield of each load through correct container and mode selection.
  • Collaborate with customer service, internal operations, and external vendors to ensure all movements are executed according to plan.
  • Plan loads in line with business guidelines, safety standards, and relevant legislation.
  • Complete end-of-day checks and close out pending system-related tasks such as DFN processing.
  • Work closely with operations to ensure planning supports achievable and efficient execution.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and contribute to ongoing network and process improvements.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting, planning analysis, and support for management decision-making.

  • Experience in logistics, with a focus on planning, coordination, or analytical roles—intermodal or rail highly regarded.
  • A solid understanding of the commercial and customer impacts of operational decisions.
  • Strong computer literacy, including Excel and planning systems such as Blue Yonder or other TMS platforms.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and time-sensitive tasks.
  • A safety-first mindset and commitment to compliance with WHS, Chain of Responsibility (CoR), and fatigue management standards.
  • A relevant qualification in logistics, business, or supply chain (desirable but not essential).
