About the Role 

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Planning Assistant to join our Portmans Planning team. In this role, you will ensure data integrity across planning reports, manage the weekly reporting suite, and maintain accurate line projections. The Planning Assistant enables the Planners to make strategic financial decisions by ensuring the data is always refreshed, accurate, and ready for analysis.

Responsibilities 

  • Ownership of the reporting suite (WSSIs, Store & Category performance, Range Sign off reports, Assortment Plan set up, Markdown reports, etc)
  • Format and produce ad hoc reports as required by the Planning team
  • Managing and refreshing weekly Line Projections on Core styles, and participating in forward forecasts with the Planners
  • Assist the Planners in building store Ratio Packs for new orders based on historical performance
  • Loading price changes and markdowns into the system
  • Maintaining the "On Order" file tracking deliveries and updating the intake flow in the WSSI
  • Run regular "cleansing" reports to identify anomalies in the system

Skills & Experience 

  • Strong retail, financial and analytical skills
  • Strong numerical literacy; ability to spot patterns in large datasets
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, Finance, or a related field will be highly advantageous
  • Experience in planning systems is a bonus
  • Passion for retail with an analytical mind
