About the Role
We’re looking for a sharp, motivated Finance Business Partner - Smiggle to join our Finance team on a 12-month fixed term basis. Reporting to the Finance Manager – Smiggle, you'll be responsible for delivering timely, accurate management reporting and insightful analysis to support the brand’s financial performance. Working closely with key stakeholders, the role supports cost control, budgeting, and forecasting through the preparation and review of weekly, monthly and annual financial results.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Control, P&L Review & Analysis: Perform month-end close activities, including preparing and posting journals
- Prepare and review cost centre reports, ensuring accuracy and integrity of accounting treatments
- Partner with cost centre owners monthly to review results against budget and projections
- Provide advice on cost management opportunities and broader financial/commercial matters
- Review P&L performance against budget and projection, clearly documenting and explaining variances
- Oversee the preparation and distribution of weekly labour reports
- Manage the end-to-end royalty reporting process
- Budgets & Projections: Assist with the preparation of budgets and projections, ensuring alignment with brand strategy
- Prepare, review and challenge monthly and seasonal projections, including underlying assumptions
- Partner with commercial and merchandising teams to ensure projections reflect operational plans
- Work with cost centre managers to ensure accountability against forecasted costs
- Ad Hoc & Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline reporting, automate data flows and improve efficiency
- Support cross-functional learning and knowledge sharing within the finance team
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members
- Contribute positively to team culture and shared finance objectives
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with CA or CPA qualification
- 5+ years’ experience in a commercial finance or management accounting role, ideally within Retail and/or FMCG
- Strong analytical capability, with a structured approach to solving commercial and financial challenges
- Proven ability to interpret, simplify and communicate complex financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with TM1 is highly regarded
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Collaborative team player who enjoys partnering cross-functionally
