 About the role:

As a yard Coordinator with Aurizon, you will be required to coordinate train crew, yard and terminal operations ensuring cost effective deployment of resources while maintaining a high level of customer service. This includes the responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day movements of rollingstock, ensuring all planned activities are executed on time as well as managing day of operations changes to meet all planned train service and maintenance activity timeframes.

You will:

  • Oversee day to day movements of rolling stock and ensure that all operations are executed on time.
  • Manage the daily operations changes to meet all train service timeframes.
  • Develop, implement, and manage processes, systems and procedures for supply chain performance and the attainment of the daily schedule.
  • Promote high performance expectations within a supportive team environment and encourage continuous improvement activities.
  • Direct and manage the allocation, utilisation and deployment of production resources to ensure the disciplined execution of the yard plan.
  • Ensure that all business activities and employees within the position's area of control comply with all legislative/statutory obligations, company policies, standards and procedures.

About you:

  • Previous frontline leadership experience in rail yard operations, logistics or heavy industrial experience (Preferred)
  • Previous rail & construction experience (Highly regarded)
  • Cert IV in Train Driving and /or shunt qualification (Highly regarded)
  • Demonstrated skills to effectively lead teams in a day of operations environment.
  • Demonstrated experience to effectively work with key stakeholders to deliver value to the customer.
  • Substantial level of analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of communication skills in providing clear and professional verbal and written information.
  • Demonstrated ability in the use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite.

Please note – this is not a FIFO position, only candidates willing to be based in the Cloncurry region should apply.
