About the role:

Aurizon has an exciting opportunity for a Reliability Specialist Wagons, based in Sarina. This role will see you optimising the safety, reliability, availability and cost effectiveness of Aurizon's wagons/ rollingstock. This is a Monday to Friday role and suits someone wanting to get off the tools, has a passion for problem solving and a great communicator.

Key responsibilities and deliverables of this position include but are not limited to:

  1. Champion a safety culture that promotes, creates and maintains a safe approach in all aspects of the operation.
  2. Work with relevant teams to ensure all asset classes and components maintain compliance with the safety management system (SMS) and approved system of maintenance at all times.
  3. Provide frontline component fault finding and technical advice to leadership and trade staff.
  4. Work with relevant teams in setting availability and reliability targets by class and by operating corridor/system.
  5. In association with relevant teams, implement reliability programs by class and operating corridor/system.
  6. Work with Planning teams and Leadership to ensure the existence of one maintenance plan, that all stakeholders plan, schedule and acquit against that plan and where variations to plan occur, that any variations are analysed, understood at root cause and strategies developed to prevent recurrence.
  7. Work with relevant specialists and Maintenance Planning teams in developing and deploying standard maintenance processes, procedures and work packages by classes and operating corridors/systems.
  8. Provide frontline information and input to relevant team as relates to warranty and insurance matters.
  9. Undertake Root Cause Analysis Investigations for failures, and make recommendations for system improvements

About you:   

  • Mechanical or Electrical Trade Qualification essential  
  • High level of problem solving skills.
  • High level of interpersonal, written and oral communication skills in an autonomous work environment.
  • High level of analytical and conceptual skills
