About the Role:

Aurizon’s presence in South Australia is expanding, and we’re looking for a proactive and safety-focused Safety Partner to oversee performance across operational activities. This role plays a key part in shaping safety initiatives as well as monitoring safety performance.

We are looking for a proactive and results-driven safety professional with a strong background in mining or logistics. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy problem-solving, and have a passion for driving efficiency and safety. Your ability to engage stakeholders and optimise processes will be key to success in this role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with corporate teams to align safety strategies across the business
  • Provide practical safety advice, coaching and support to leaders
  • Promote a positive safety culture and implement safety improvement plans
  • Participate in project teams to support safety-related initiatives and change management
  • Monitor compliance with safety standards and conduct assurance activities
  • Lead or support investigations and reporting of workplace incidents
  • Deliver insights and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Champion Aurizon’s values and foster a culture of safety and high performance.

About You:

You’re a confident communicator with a keen eye for operational detail and the ability to influence and build trust with contractors and stakeholders alike. You thrive in dynamic environments and are committed to maintaining safety, performance and compliance.

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Cert IV in Workplace Health and Safety (mandatory)
  • Background in mining, logistics or heavy industry
  • Strong understanding of safety principles and practices
  • Understanding of WHS, HVNL, RSNL and DG legislation 
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
  • A current open ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence, and comfortable with regular travel between operational sites
