About the role: 
Aurizon is looking for a driven and experienced leader to help shape the future of our Bulk Central operations. Based in Adelaide and reporting to the Operations Manager for Bulk Central, this hands-on role is at the heart of delivering growth, transformation, and change initiatives with a strong focus on operations, safety, and cost optimisation. You’ll work across teams and functions to identify, develop, and implement high-impact projects that lift supply chain performance and deliver measurable, long-term results. 

This role is accountable for: 

  • Partnering with the leadership team to identify, assess, and deliver improvement and optimisation initiatives. 
  • Leading the review and continuous improvement of business processes, including technology, capability, and change management strategies. 
  • Providing insights through data analysis and reporting to support informed decision-making and optimise commercial outcomes. 
  • Developing and delivering project/change plans with clear scope, governance, timelines, and quality outcomes. 
  • Standardising and improving processes across the supply chain to enhance efficiency and consistency. 
  • Ensuring all activities comply with legislative obligations, company policies, and safety standards. 

About you: 
We’re looking for a strategic thinker and results-driven leader with a passion for operational excellence and continuous improvement. You’ll thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and bring: 

  • Experience applying change management and/or process improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma). 
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data interpretation, reporting tools, and dashboard creation (e.g. Power BI). 
  • Solid understanding of safety management systems and compliance frameworks. 
  • Operational knowledge of transport or supply chain environments, including rostering and deployment practices. 
  • Proven project management capabilities, including change delivery and benefit realisation. 
  • Financial literacy and the ability to develop and present business cases. 
  • High-level interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills. 
  • The ability to lead teams, coordinate resources, and deliver on business priorities.
