About the Role:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Haulage Operations Leader to oversee daily haulage operations and lead our frontline teams to success. Based on an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster from Perth, this critical leadership role is responsible for coordinating people, plant, and processes to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate all haulage activities to ensure operational targets and customer service levels are met.
• Manage the effective utilisation and deployment of people, equipment, and systems.
• Support the Haulage Superintendent with people management activities, including performance reviews, discipline, and reward and recognition programs.
• Coach, mentor, and support both employees and contractors to foster high-performance teams and drive continuous improvement.
• Monitor and manage daily haulage operations to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Oversee the scheduling, maintenance, and upkeep of haulage equipment and vehicles.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities and ensure alignment with company standards and customer expectations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise resource usage and achieve business objectives.

You are a hands-on leader with strong operational knowledge, a passion for safety, and a focus on results. You thrive in a dynamic environment and enjoy solving problems, developing people, and driving performance.

Skills and Experience Required:

Mandatory:

• Demonstrated experience in a haulage, logistics, or heavy industrial environment.
• Proven leadership experience in large-scale haulage or transport operations.

Desirable:

• Experience managing subcontractors and external service providers.
• Qualifications in logistics, transport management, or a related field (preferred but not essential).

Key Skills:

• Strong organisational and coordination skills.
• In-depth understanding of regulatory and policy frameworks in haulage operations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse teams.
• Strong customer service focus and ability to manage client expectations.
• Sound analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficient in using operational systems and computer applications relevant to the role.
