This role sits within a small, supportive team where your work will have real impact. You’ll help drive value for the Network Operations team by shaping and improving financial procedures and processes. We’re looking for someone who enjoys collaboration and takes ownership of their work. About the role: 
- 12-month contract supporting commercial decisions by providing financial understanding and insights.
 
- Undertake and coordinate activities required to support the relevant area.
 
- Improve the quality of information, reporting and insight provided to the business to enable informed decision making.
 
- Provide analytical support for financial performance, operational initiatives and other key performance indicators.
 
- Develop key reporting, budgets, forecasting, monthly accounting etc as required for internal and external stakeholders.
 
- Respond to various ad hoc information requests.
 
- Collaboration and accountability within team to enable optimal ways of working across the Aurizon finance community. 
 
About you: 
- Tertiary qualification in a finance related discipline (Mandatory).
 
- Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) (Preferred).
 
- Have a minimum of 5 years in a similar financial support role.

- Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
 
- Well-developed analytical skills.
 
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
