Aurizon’s Hunter Valley Operations is looking for an engaging and versatile Operations Superintendent to be based at the Antiene rail operations depot located near Muswellbrook. Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager Hunter Valley, you will build a resilient operation with an engaged workforce, ensuring the delivery of safe, reliable and cost-effective services for our customers.
About the role:
- Lead and build capability and ownership within your team to drive a safety culture aligned with I know safe, I choose safe’ culture in all aspects of operations.
- Engaging and coaching supervisors in the effective use of safety tools, systems, and processes to ensure safe outcomes.
- Facilitate a learning environment where the sharing of ideas is welcomed and there is an openness to explore what is helping & hindering performance.
- Provide effective feedback and coaching to support supervisors in achieving performance deliverables.
- Work collaboratively with peers, colleagues and relevant stakeholders applying diverse perspectives to deliver better results.
- Implement recognition activities and celebrations of success.
- Deliver resourcing and ensure succession plans are in place that recognise, retain and provide pathways for identified talent.
- Oversee and allocate resources to conduct performance, conduct and/or incident management investigations in line with company expectations and established processes
- Oversee the safe, reliable and cost-effective delivery of rail services and management of fixed plant asset management.
About you:
- High level operational business management skills including, financial and budget management, complex problem solving and analytical thinking to respond to dynamic and changing business needs.
- High level of leadership, people management, project management, negotiation, and communication skills.
- High level of skill in engaging and influencing others through written and verbal communication.
- Excellent internal and external stakeholder engagement skills.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, code standards, principles, policies, procedures, and guidelines
