Expression of Interest – Murrin Murrin Operations
Aurizon is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced and motivated personnel to join our operations supporting at Murrin Murrin, Western Australia.
We are building a talent pool for current and future opportunities across a range of trade, driving, and operator roles within a FIFO mining environment.
Positions of Interest:
- Heavy Diesel Mechanic
- Boilermaker
- Auto Electrician
- Tyre Fitter
- Road Train Driver
- Watercart Driver
- Loader Operator
- Grader Operator
- Heavy Equipment Operator
About the Role
Working within Aurizon’s operational team, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and delivery of services across the Murrin Murrin site. Depending on your role, responsibilities may include supporting freight and terminal operations, plant and equipment operation, or heavy equipment maintenance.
Roles operate on a family-friendly FIFO roster (8 days on / 6 days off) and require a strong focus on safety, compliance, and teamwork in a remote environment.
Responsibilities (role dependent):
- Operating heavy equipment including reach stackers, road trains, forklifts, loaders, graders, trucks, and watercarts
- Loading, unloading, securing, and transporting freight safely and efficiently
- Conducting pre-start checks, inspections, and basic maintenance
- Carrying out trade maintenance, repairs, and fault finding on heavy mobile equipment
- Adhering to Aurizon and site safety, fatigue, and heavy equipment policies
- Handling bulk and dangerous goods in accordance with regulations
- Performing general terminal or site duties, including basic data entry as required
- Maintaining a high standard of professionalism and customer service
- Actively contributing to a positive safety and team culture
- Utilising current licences and being open to obtaining additional certifications as required
About You
To be successful in these roles, you will demonstrate:
- Relevant trade qualifications, licences, or machinery tickets for your role
- Experience in mining, freight, logistics, or heavy industrial operations
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to work FIFO rosters and 12-hour shifts in remote conditions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office
- A proactive and team-oriented approach
Tickets and Licences (role dependent, including but not limited to):
- MC Driver’s Licence (mandatory for driving roles)
- High-risk forklift licence
- CN / Reach Stacker ticket
- Front-end loader ticket
- Dangerous Goods licence
- Relevant plant and machinery competencies
