About the role:

Are you passionate about developing people and sharing your knowledge & expertise?
Aurizon’s Safety, Health, Environment and Learning team is seeking a motivated Technical Trainer to deliver high-quality, hands-on operational training for our operational employees across Western Australia.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being out in the field, engaging with teams, and travelling to different depots and locations to deliver practical training that keeps our people and operations safe and compliant.
Based in one of Aurizon’s WA locations, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining and uplifting driving capability across our Bulk business.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and assess operational training to ensure compliance with Aurizon’s Operational Training Model and industry standards.
• Develop, maintain, and update training resources and assessment tools.
• Mentor and support operational tutors and trainers to enhance delivery consistency and quality.
• Conduct training needs analyses and identify opportunities for process and performance improvement.
• Adapt your training style to suit different audiences and learning environments.
• Maintain current operational knowledge to engage authentically with operations teams.
• Build strong relationships across sites to share knowledge and promote a culture of safety and learning.

About you:

You’re someone who thrives on variety and connection – equally comfortable in a classroom, a yard, or out on the network. You’ll bring:

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Mandatory)
• Heavy industry/Rail/Mining onsite training and assessing experience
• Strong facilitation, coaching, and communication skills.
• A collaborative, safety-focused approach and ability to engage diverse audiences.
• A willingness to work a 8 & 6 FIFO roster to deliver training.
