Remuneration/Benefits:
Attractive and competitive starting remuneration that increases on completion of training and after obtaining additional competencies. Opportunity for overtime available once qualified.

About the role

At Aurizon, safety comes first. As a Network Controller, you will play a critical role in the safe and efficient operation of our rail network by operating our world‑class Train Control systems and supporting planned and unplanned maintenance activities.

Network Controllers manage, monitor and report on train operating performance and respond to unplanned events across the Network. Working in a high‑reliability environment, you will apply structured processes, sound judgement and clear communication to ensure safe outcomes for our people, customers and communities.

Aurizon provides a comprehensive in‑house training program of approximately six months, combining classroom learning with on‑the‑job experience alongside experienced Network Controllers, Network Coordinators and Superintendents. On successful completion, you will receive a nationally recognised qualification. No prior rail experience is required.  Once qualified, you will work 9 shifts across a fortnight on a 24/7 rotating roster.  This is a residential role based in Rockhampton and is not a FIFO or DIDO position.

High‑performing Network Controllers demonstrate sustained focus, attention to detail and the ability to problem‑solve in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. You will work both independently and as part of a broader Network Control team, contributing positively to Aurizon’s strong safety culture and collaborative way of working.
