Aurizon’s Bulk Central business is seeking an experienced Crew Planning Leader to be based at Dry Creek, Adelaide. In this role, you will lead a team of Crew Rostering Officers to ensure rail services are crewed efficiently, safely and cost‑effectively across Bulk Central. This is a Monday to Friday role, working a 76‑hour fortnight, with flexibility to work weekends as required to support operational requirements.

About the role:

  • Coordinate the development of service and resource plans to meet operational and business objectives.
  • Develop effective roster and logistical solutions that support customer requirements.
  • Provide strong leadership to the team, including people management and operating budget oversight.
  • Build the technical capability of Crew Rostering Officers to develop cost‑effective rosters for live operations and analyse roster performance.
  • Collaborate with leaders across regions to drive consistent best practice and continuous improvement.
  • Lead workforce planning activities for Bulk Central Operations
  • Analyse data and provide recommendations that support or enhance business outcomes.
  • Lead the team to ensure compliance with Enterprise Agreement and legislative requirements.
  • Crew scheduling experience or experience developing master rosters is highly regarded.

About you:

  • You have demonstrated experience in rostering and planning within a commercial freight or transport environment managing high‑volume operations, with crew scheduling or master roster development highly regarded.
  • You are an experienced people leader with strong communication skills and a proven ability to build and engage high‑performing teams.
  • You bring well‑developed consultation, negotiation and customer service skills.
  • You have sound knowledge of transport operations, Safety Management Systems, Workplace Health and Safety, and quality systems.
  • You have a strong understanding of Enterprise Agreement conditions and their practical application.
