This role plays a critical part in enabling workforce capability through high-quality training solutions that align to enterprise standards, regulatory requirements, and evolving operational needs.

About the role:

As a Technical Trainer, you will lead and support the delivery of technical training and assessment, ensuring employees achieve competency standards and perform at their best. You’ll collaborate with leaders and subject matter experts to design and refine learning programs, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and safety excellence.

This role will see you:

  • Lead the facilitation and assessment of operations technical training to achieve competency standards and performance outcomes
  • Support the development, optimisation, and delivery of training programs aligned with enterprise frameworks and regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of new training strategies, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement
  • Partner with leaders and stakeholders to provide expert advice on training and assessment practices
  • Conduct training needs analysis and evaluations, translating insights into updated and improved learning content
  • Deliver engaging training tailored to a variety of audiences, experience levels, and learning styles
  • Support strategic initiatives to enhance training efficiency, compliance, and quality outcomes
  • Maintain current qualifications and continuously develop facilitation and training expertise
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships to stay aligned with safety, operational and learning priorities

About you: 

You are a skilled facilitator with strong technical expertise and a passion for developing others. You bring a practical, hands-on approach to training, combined with the ability to influence, engage and drive continuous improvement.

 

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent)
  • Certificate IV in Rail Operations or Trade qualification
  • Demonstrated experience in training delivery and assessment
  • Strong industry or operational experience within a relevant discipline
  • High-level facilitation, coaching and mentoring skills
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capability
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt style to suit different audiences
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
  • Strong organisational skills with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Advanced problem-solving, decision-making, and training content development capability
