Current Opportunity: Business Analyst Graduate
We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Business Analyst to join Aurizon’s Coal team, working at the centre of the customer and commercial function within the Coal business.
In this role, you will provide a range of analytical and commercial support to help shape and deliver strong customer outcomes. You will interpret customer requirements, commercial agreements, and operational inputs to develop insights and analysis that inform customer proposals, commercial assessments, and pricing considerations, supporting sound decision‑making and commercial outcomes.
Working closely with Coal Customer leaders and commercial managers, you will contribute to pricing related analysis, commercial evaluations and decisions supporting customer proposals and agreements. You will also collaborate with key operational stakeholders across the coal business to understand performance drivers, support reporting and forecasting, and contribute to initiatives that enhance customer outcomes, network efficiency, and safe, reliable coal operations.
You are currently completing the final year of your degree and are preparing to transition into your professional career. You hold a relevant tertiary qualification such as Business, Commerce, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Analytics, or a related discipline, and have a strong interest in how commercial, operational and customer‑focused decisions are made within a large, complex organisation.
You bring developing analytical and problem‑solving skills, the ability to work with data and information, and clear communication skills that allow you to engage confidently with a range of stakeholders. You are organised, curious, adaptable, and self-motivated to learn through hands‑on experience, with any exposure to data analysis, reporting, process improvement or customer‑focused environments through coursework, internships or part‑time work viewed favourably.
