About the role
As our Regional Operations Leader, you’ll be at the centre of action—leading frontline teams, solving complex challenges and keeping critical freight services moving safely and efficiently across the network.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll:
- Lead in a fast-paced, live operations environment where every decision counts
- Take ownership of performance, safety and service delivery outcomes
- Shape how work gets done and influence operational strategy on the ground
- Develop and lead a high-performing, engaged workforce

What you’ll be doing
- Leading frontline rail operations to deliver safe, reliable and efficient services
- Managing train crew and yard operations, balancing operational priorities with people leadership
- Owning incident investigations and driving timely, quality outcomes
- Identifying and delivering continuous improvement initiatives that lift performance
- Building strong relationships with customers, stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Driving a high-performance, safety-first culture.
About you
You’re a practical, resilient leader who brings strong judgement, presence and a genuine commitment to people and safety.
You will bring:
- Proven leadership experience in rail, logistics, mining or heavy industry
- The ability to make confident decisions in dynamic, operational environments
- Strong problem-solving and incident investigation experience
- Confidence navigating conflict and leading courageous conversations
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to build trust across teams and customers
- A visible commitment to safety leadership
Desirable:
- Certificate IV / Diploma in Frontline Management or similar
- Experience in rail or yard operations
