This role leads the planning and scheduling of operational labour and assets across Western Australia, with a strong focus on safety, fatigue management, process governance, team capability and continuous improvement. The position is responsible for delivering efficient, cost-effective outcomes that meet customer needs and align with regulations.

About the role:

  • Lead the planning and scheduling strategy for labour and assets, while acting as the key interface for critical stakeholders in Western Australia.
  • Drive standardised rostering and scheduling practices, governance frameworks and supporting systems that align with legislative requirements, company policies and business unit standards.
  • Lead, coach and develop the rostering and scheduling team to deliver an integrated operational plan that improves asset utilisation, productivity and service outcomes, while controlling cost.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to design and implement strategic rostering and scheduling transformation initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships that support business performance, including representing the company in key supply chain and senior customer forums.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of data, reporting and decision-support tools that improve labour and asset efficiency across the business unit.

About you:

  • Demonstrated senior leadership capability, including experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Extensive experience in logistics and/or train operations.
  • Strong ability to influence and negotiate across diverse, cross-functional teams.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen, with proven strategic thinking and business planning capability.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships and contribute positively as part of a team.
  • Capability to analyse information and provide recommendations that support executive decision-making and business objectives.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of people leadership and how to bring out the best in teams.
