About the role:
As a Senior Logistics Planning Specialist at Aurizon, you will play a key role in shaping the mid- to long-term planning of our Coal operations. In this influential role, you will apply your analytical expertise, supply chain knowledge and stakeholder engagement skills to turn complex data into practical insights, drive optimisation initiatives and deliver robust forecasts that support smarter planning and stronger commercial outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the identification of planning and execution performance improvement activities, providing guidance to management through the application of effective analytical strategies including evaluating risks and impacts of alternative solutions.
- Lead and coordinate the implementation of analytical methodology transformation activities, including engaging external supply chain partners, development of process frameworks, ensuring all relevant documentation, models and systems are updated.
- Drive commercial value outcomes aligned to business objectives through the delivery of timely and robust forecasts, capacity and capability. assessments to internal stakeholders and external supply chain partners.
- Drive and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in a proactive and solution focused way, utilising innovative methods to effectively contribute to ongoing information and knowledge sharing of relevant subject matters.
- Deliver professional expertise, advice and data analytics through the assessment, research and analysis of relevant trends providing timely and reliable information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislative/statutory obligations and enterprise policies, codes, values, standards and procedures, where required.
About you:
You will bring strong supply chain knowledge and analytical capability, with the confidence to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with other departments. You will be comfortable interpreting complex data, identifying performance improvement opportunities to deliver practical solutions that support effective planning and stronger business outcomes.
- Degree qualification with a Business or similar discipline (preferred).
- Strong understanding of supply chain delivery performance principals.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to influence, collaborate and engage effectively.
- Advanced understanding of statistics and strong research, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong data collection, organisation, analysis, interpretation, and presentation skills.
- Strong systems experience, understanding of business intelligence tools.
- High level of project management skills to work successfully and implement strategic initiatives that deliver sustainable results.
- High level of skill working both autonomously and collaboratively in a team as well as the ability to coach and mentor others.
