Remuneration/Benefit: $30 - $38 + 25% casual loading
About the role: Aurizon’s Engineering & Control Systems team is currently seeking a Student Engineer on a casual basis.
This hands-on role is a fantastic opportunity for an engineering student to gain real-world experience in a large-scale rail operation. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll contribute to projects that supports Aurizon’s Train Control, Traction Power SCADA and Asset Protection systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Support the Operational Systems Engineering team in the design, development, testing, and commissioning of mission-critical software and industrial SCADA systems
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of documentation, procedures, and reports
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for business improvement, technology development and innovation to support and enhance the enterprise's business
- Providing general engineering and administrative support as needed
About you: We’re looking for a motivated and curious individual who is currently completing a tertiary degree in Software, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering and has:
- Interest in software and systems engineering
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- A passion for learning and contributing to real-world engineering projects
