Are you an early-career finance professional looking to take the next step in your career? Aurizon is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our Finance Partnering Bulk team and support the commercial and financial performance of our Bulk business.
This role is ideally suited to someone with 2–3 years of experience in finance, accounting, commercial analysis, business analysis, or a related field who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and partnering with stakeholders to drive business outcomes.
About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Lead Bulk Commercial, you will play a key role in ensuring operational and financial data is accurately captured and reported to support commercial decision-making, financial planning and business performance.
You will:
- Analyse financial, operational and commercial data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
- Maintain and improve revenue, reporting and commercial performance systems.
- Support month-end processes including journals, reconciliations and forecasting.
- Develop reports, models and dashboards to provide business insights.
- Assist in reviewing contracts, business cases and commercial proposals.
- Partner with stakeholders across the business to improve processes and data integrity.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and commercial projects.
About You
We're looking for someone who brings:
- Approximately 2–3 years' experience in finance, accounting, commercial analysis, business analysis, or a similar discipline.
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Advanced Excel skills and a high level of computer literacy (SAP experience highly regarded).
- The ability to interpret data and communicate insights to a range of stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- A curious, proactive mindset and a desire to continuously improve processes and outcomes.
