Aurizon is currently seeking a Locomotive Driver position in the Central Queensland team in Rockhampton. About the role:
- Master Roster line working which includes local, NCL and Western services. IML project work when required and QCL on occasion.
- Operation of locomotives including mainline, shunting, and marshalling
- Examine and certify trains as ready for departure
- Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures
- Maintain a high level of on-time running
- Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives
- Provide high quality customer service to enable Aurizon to meet its set business objectives
About you:
- A Certificate IV in Rail Operations.
- Must be available to work 24/7 shift roster.
- Experience in QLD Safeworking System and CQCN Route knowledge is advantageous but not essential.
- Extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience.
- Able to work autonomously and adapt to part of a larger team across different business areas.
- Current unrestricted Class C drivers’ licence.
- Willing to learn ATP systems and develop regional network knowledge across Mackay, Maryborough and Emerald.
- Available for camp-based work, local yard duties and locomotive provisioning as required.
- Eager to learn, grow and contribute to a high-performing team culture.
