As a Fault Coordination Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the performance and reliability of Aurizon's Operational Systems Network. Working within Aurizon's Network Operations Centre (NOC), which houses the Fault Coordination Centre (FCC), you will monitor and manage telecommunications and signalling network systems 24/7, identifying faults, completing repairs, coordinating service restoration activities, and supporting safe and efficient rail operation

About the role:

  • Continuously monitor the Operational Systems Network, identifying and investigating faults, irregularities, and potential system or service issues.
  • Provide a proactive response and effective coordination and/or rectification to system faults thus minimising train delays and/or customer impact.
  • Ensure out of hours faults and customer enquiries are effectively managed.
  • Coordinate testing of backup systems to ensure their effective operation and the interruption to services are minimised.
  • Perform moves and changes to system configuration and preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled.
  • Ensure safe and reliable operation of the Operational Systems Network through clear and effective communication with stakeholders as required.

About you: 

  • Cert III Electronics and/or Telecommunications, or Cert IV Instrumentation (Mandatory)
  • Registered Cabling Licence (AMA) or willingness to obtain (Desirable)
  • Electrical Trade Certificate or Restricted Electrical Work Licence (Desirable)
  • Ability to work shift work
  • Previous Telecommunications or Instrumentation experience
  • Previous experience logging and scheduling work order in SAP (preferred)
