The Opportunity:
We are on the lookout for a well-grounded and practical shift foreman to join our Paper and Pulp team based at our Smithfield plant.
Our Paper and Pulp division is where the magic begins in the world of sustainability, creating recycled paper and recycled products. Ideally you have an extensive paper background working in a leadership role where safety, training, quality, performance, continuous improvement and productivity is a normal part of your every day.
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be the subject matter expert in paper and enjoy trouble shooting, working in a fast paced environment, thrive under pressure and able to think on your feet whilst mentoring and coaching your team, to perform at optimum levels to be the best they can be!
This is a permanent full time opportunity working a 24/7 rotating shift pattern.
Your Typical Day
- Initiate and drive safe work practices, ensuring you and your team follow all safety policies and meet all regulations
- Develop improvement processes and ensure established processes are maintained to meet compliance and quality targets
- Manage your shift to ensure production standards and machines are maintained and running to speed
- Train and upskill your production team to ensure consistency and target outcomes are met
- Reporting daily on non-conformances, production output and safety
- Communicate with key stakeholders and lead, motivate and performance manage your team to foster a positive team culture.
What you will bring to the team:
- Paper Making or relevant Tertiary/Trade qualification (advantageous)
- Must have a current driver’s license and own transport
- Boiler ticket & Forklift license (advantageous)
- Tech savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP or other ERP systems
- Relevant industry experience
- Strong leadership and multi-tasking abilities
- A cool, calm and collected disposition
- Ability to work in hot, wet and humid conditions
