Reporting to the National Freight Hub Manager, as a Freight Allocator you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of third-party transport carriers. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as procurement, compliance, & planning to ensure delivery and pick-ups are executed on time. What you'll do:
- Coordinate freight movements across Visy Industries locations and for external customers.
- Work with fleet controllers to ensure high asset utilisation.
- Use strong analytical skills to plan and optimise resource allocation.
- Schedule operations to meet customer demands, prioritising our fleet’s availability.
- Maintain open communication with customers and carriers, providing updates on any delays.
- Manage multiple priorities and resolve issues in a clear, methodical way.
- Build strong relationships with carriers, customers, and internal teams to secure cost-effective transport solutions.
- Promote teamwork to consolidate loads efficiently and maximise resource use.
What You Will Bring:
- Prior experience in a Transport Allocation or Customer centric role within the Transport & Logistics industry.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the application of NHVR, CoR (Fatigue Management, Load planning, and Mass Management).
- Proficiency in transport management systems.
- Highly organised with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise workloads.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to plan resources systemically and problem-solve to find the best solution.
- A flexible, easy-going attitude and can work under pressure while multi-tasking.
