What You Will Do:

We have an exciting full-time opportunity for an Operations Supervisor to join our afternoon shift in Penrith. With your solid knowledge in the Transport and Logistics industry, you get to shape the future of this fast-growing division! To be successful you will bring exceptional operational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage relationships effectively across various internal and external business units. Please note, all applicants must hold a current driver’s license.

Reporting to the State Logistics Manager, key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Lead and manage a small team of drivers and warehouse operators to ensure daily fleet operations, including scheduling and allocation, is timely and accurate
  • Ensure freight is delivered safely, on time, and in accordance with company and customer requirements
  • Oversee truck loading to ensure all vehicles are safely loaded, and orders are accurately fulfilled
  • Ensure load security in compliance with company and legal standards before vehicles leave the depot 
  • Facilitate shift handovers by effectively communicating with the AM supervisor to ensure a seamless transition to the PM shift
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, customers, and drivers.
  • Communicate proactively with drivers and customers regarding planning and delays to minimize disruptions to operations.

 

What you will bring to the team:

  • Prior experience in a similar role within the Transport and Logistics industry
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of OH&S, CoR & NHVR legislation
  • SAP, WMS & TMS knowledge is desirable
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • A continuous improvement mindset with good change management experience
  • Ability to build strong relationships external and internally as this will be crucial to the success of his role
