The opportunity:
The State Accounting Manager will be an integral member of the Visy Board Queensland State Management teams, responsible for the management of all aspects of the accounting and financial functions. Providing Visy with strategic and operational financial leadership and advice, while maintaining robust compliance, financial and management reporting processes.
Role details:
The role will be reporting to the General Manager Finance Corrugated and a dotted line to the State General Managers and based in Carole Park, Brisbane. The state structure includes 3 Corrugator plants and 10 regional depots, and your team will include 4 direct reports.
What you'll do:
- Accurate and timely completion of the monthly management reports, ensuring data integrity
- Stock Reporting, Balance Sheets, Profit and Loss, Mid-Month Estimates
- Manage the annual budget and quarterly forecast processes, ensuring data completeness and integrity
- Ensure ledgers are always compliant with accounting standards
- Manage all statutory and financial account obligations as required by law and Visy policy
- Provide leadership and guidance to the team. Set clear goals and accountabilities
- Engagement with teams to support key analyses such as volumes, sales, capital expenditure, expense control, and other ad hoc reviews
What you will bring to the team:
- Qualifications in Finance / Business or related discipline is essential
- You are CPA/CA qualified or equivalent
- Solid experience working in finance & accounting related roles - (8 years min)
- Experience in manufacturing or corporate environment preferred
- Demonstrated experience in planning and reporting processes in a medium to large organisation
- Proven experience in report preparation and presentation to key internal and external stakeholders / clients
- Proficient in SAP & Hyperion
