The opportunity:
Visy Logistics are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Operations Trainer to join the team based in Wiri Auckland. Reporting to the Compliance Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that driver and operator safety, training and compliance are at the forefront of Truck Driver and Forklift Operators everyday activities.
What you will do:
Based at our Wiri Logistics site, you’ll be provided with a company vehicle to travel between Auckland locations, working Monday to Friday with flexible hours between 5am and 7pm.
Key responsibilities::
- Manage your own schedule to deliver training and assessments across shifts
- Align training methods with operational processes for consistency
- Maintain and improve training policies, procedures, and documentation
- Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility and company policies
- Deliver up-to-date safety training and conduct driver assessments
- Identify skill gaps and implement a 2-year re-induction program
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Support operator development through feedback and conflict resolution
What you will bring to the team:
- Proven experience as a professional truck driver and trainer in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated, calm, and considerate under pressure
- Strong commitment to safety, leading by example in all tasks
- Attention to detail and a collaborative approach to achieving team goals
- Excellent communication skills with both frontline staff and leadership
- Skilled in assessing trainee performance and delivering constructive feedback
- Ability to guide and support continuous skill development
- Experience using Eroad systems for compliance and performance tracking
You must also hold the following licenses and certification:
- Endorsement Courses: Driving Instructors (I)
- Current Heavy Vehicle License- Class 5
- Current Medical Certificate
- Current 5Ton Forklift License
- Current Reach Truck License
- Experience with Quad Lifter
