The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting a Palletiser Operator to join our team in Visy Beverage Cans, Wiri, Auckland. This is a full-time permanent position, working on a rolling shift pattern, over 4 Shifts on and 4 days off. As a Palletiser Operator you will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of the palletiser and associated packaging machinery, ensuring all finished goods are correctly inspected and packaged to the correct specifications prior to storage using fork hoists into the warehouse.
Other key responsibilities will include:
- Monitor and maintain condition of machinery to effectively and efficiently produce a product within Manufacturing Specifications.
- Maintain close and regular liaison with Team Leader, Plant Engineer and Maintenance Co-ordinator to keep abreast with all preventative breakdown and project maintenance issues, both current and future.
- Completes changeover tasks as required and seeks to improve changeover times and repeatability.
- Regular maintenance checks on Forkhoists are completed.
What you will bring to the team
As our new Palletiser Operator, you will have prior experience working within an industrial/manufacturing environment. You will be a reliable team player, with a strong work ethic. You have good communication skills and process a strong focus on Health, Safety and Environmental practices. Along with the following:
- Experience operating a fork hoist and a valid forklift licence is essential.
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating roster – 2 days/2 nights, 4 days off!
- Previous machine operation experience within an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Quality control and defect analysis- You will have good attention to detail and an eye for accuracy.
- Basic computer skills and SAP experience is an advantage.
- Proven ability to work in a physically demanding and fast paced environment.
