Production Supervisor (Paper Manufacturing)

Role Details

The Production Supervisor will be involved in and responsible for certain sections of the daily operations of the paper mill process, ensuring that production targets are met while meeting and exceeding the high standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in paper manufacturing, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the paper manufacturing process including the fundamentals of paper quality management.

 

What you'll do

  • Lead and support the production team to keep the paper manufacturing process running safely and efficiently
  • Champion a safe work environment by reinforcing safety standards and ensuring everyone follows Visy policies
  • Keep daily and weekly production plans on track by monitoring schedules and adjusting workflow when needed
  • Stay close to the floor – checking equipment, spotting issues early and organizing maintenance to minimize downtime
  • Maintain strong quality standards and support the team to consistently meet product specifications
  • Coach, train and develop team members, creating a positive, team-focused environment
  • Review production data and share insights to help lift performance and identify practical improvements
  • Work collaboratively with maintenance, logistics and other teams to keep operations moving and resolve issues quickly.

 

This plant operates on a 24/7-day basis, and you will need to be flexible to work additional hours as required, including being on our call-out roster.

 

What You Will Bring

A highly motivated production leader with a proactive approach, enthusiasm for troubleshooting and take accountability for tasks, you will also have:

  • Several years Paper making experience in a 24-hour operation
  • Supervisory experience in a paper manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of production management principles and practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficient in using production management software and tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
