About the Opportunity

At Visy, we’re dedicated to innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence. We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance operations at our corrugated board manufacturing facility in Smithfield.

This is a leadership role where you’ll manage a team of Electrical and Mechanical Supervisors, driving safety, reliability, and continuous improvement across the site. You’ll play a key part in coaching, developing, and empowering your team to deliver business objectives and exceed key performance targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage site maintenance operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance.
  • Drive compliance with Visy’s safety systems, including PPE, environmental standards, inspections, and certifications.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules, ensuring 85%+ PM compliance.
  • Partner with manufacturing and engineering teams to improve plant reliability, reduce downtime, and increase productivity.
  • Manage repairs, spares, and maintenance budgets effectively.
  • Lead risk assessments, root cause analysis (RCA), and drive loss elimination initiatives.
  • Build and develop a skilled, engaged team through workforce planning, training, and performance management.

What You Will Bring

  • Proven leadership and engineering management experience, ideally in corrugated board manufacturing or FMCG.
  • Strong technical capability with a background in engineering, maintenance, or reliability.
  • Ability to lead teams, manage supervisors, and foster a results-driven culture.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and continuous improvement mindset (Lean / CI experience desirable).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across all levels.
  • Experience managing budgets, planning, and compliance.
