The opportunity:
Seeking Multi Skilled Operators to join our team in Visy Glass, Penrose, Auckland, on a 6-month fixed term contract. These are full-time positions, working on a rolling shift pattern, over 4 days on and 4 days off, with opportunities for over time. There may be an opportunity to extend the contract depending on the business needs.
Reporting to the Shift Manager your role is to support the Finished Products Department to ensure that the company continues to produce and pack high quality glass ware safely and efficiently. As a Multi Skilled Operator, you will work across multiple workstations in the cold end of the manufacturing plant. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Operating various machines such as inspection equipment, conveyor systems and palletisers in the cold end of the manufacturing plant.
- Operating a forkhoist/handhoist and gantry crane.
- Accurate record keeping both electronic and manual.
- Ensuring the quality of the glass packaging meets the specifications required of Visy Glass.
- Maintain and ensure all Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.

What you will bring to the team:
As our new Multi Skilled Operator, you will have prior experience, operating machinery within an industrial/manufacturing environment. You will be a reliable team player, with a strong work ethic, along with good written and communication skills and processes a strong focus on Health, Safety and Environmental practices. Along with the following:
- Experience operating a fork hoist and fork hoist licence is highly regarded. A Gantry crane licence would be a bonus!
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating roster – 2 days/2 nights, 4 days off!
- Quality control and defect analysis- You will have good attention to detail and an eye for accuracy.
- Proven ability to work in a physically demanding and fast paced environment.
