Visy is powering the circular economy, closing the loop between packaging, remanufacturing and recycling. As Australia’s leading recycled and kraft paper manufacturer, Visy Pulp and Paper is a big part of our business. Our integrated recycling and manufacturing operations means we collect paper and cardboard from households and businesses and turn it into up to 100% recycled paper. We are also home to the world’s most environmentally friendly kraft paper mill in Tumut, providing high-quality kraft paper for domestic and international markets. The paper we produce supplies our board facilities across Australia and New Zealand, where it is remanufactured into cardboard packaging for the food and beverage industry.
Role Details
Reporting to the National Infrastructure Manager, you’ll be immersed in the design, maintenance, and support of critical IT infrastructure and network communications equipment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring high system availability, robust security, and seamless data access for our industrial operations.
This hands-on role offers exposure to cutting-edge technologies, real-world problem-solving, and the opportunity to contribute to the digitisation of manufacturing systems. You’ll be part of a team that values innovation, resilience, and continuous learning.
What you'll do
- Support and manage Microsoft Windows server environments, Active Directory, DNS, and virtualisation (VMware)
- Implement and maintain endpoint protection, backups, disaster recovery, and system monitoring
- Learn and support proprietary control systems (ABB, Siemens, Allen Bradley) and historian systems (OSIsoft PI)
- Design and manage secure IP networks, including VLANs, firewalls, and DMZ zones
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure system reliability and security
- Travel to industrial sites across the East Coast to provide on-site support
What You Will Bring
Mandatory:
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology
- Knowledge of server hardware, operating systems, IP networking, and network security
- Experience with endpoint security systems (e.g., McAfee VSE, ENS, ePO)
- Strong troubleshooting skills and escalation management
Desirable:
- Experience on industrial sites
- Hands-on IT systems experience (1+ year)
- Certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, CCNA)
- Exposure to patch management tools (WSUS, SCCM, Chef, Puppet)
- Familiarity with enterprise backup and historian systems
