Role Details:

At Visy, we’re transforming waste into valuable resources and driving a more sustainable future. Our Laverton Glass Recycling facility is one of the most advanced in Australia, featuring fully automated and robotic systems that plays a critical role in supplying high-quality cullet back into glass manufacturing – and we’re now seeking an Associate Process Engineer to support our production operations.

As an Associate Process Engineer, you’ll support our production operations. In this role, you’ll collaborate with the Operations team to develop and implement best practices that optimise processes and maintain efficiency, quality, and safety. You’ll also play an active role in continuous improvement initiatives, driving innovation and operational excellence.

This is an exciting opportunity for a recent engineering graduate with 1–3 years of experience looking to grow their career in a high-tech, sustainability-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to improve processes
  • Analyse and adjust manufacturing processes to boost efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure safety and quality standards
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions using root cause analysis and Lean tools
  • Provide technical assistance to operations and develop problem-solving skills for equipment and process challenges
  • Conduct trials and experiments to test and validate process improvements
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date process documentation, including SOPs and technical specifications
  • Uphold rigorous safety standards and perform risk assessments

 What you will bring to the team:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Process, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
  • 1-2 years of experience preferably in a manufacturing or recycling environment
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within a supportive team environment
