About the role
The Production Supervisor will be involved in and responsible for sections of the daily operations of the paper mill process, ensuring that production targets are met while meeting and exceeding the high standards of quality and safety. You will have a strong background in paper manufacturing, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the paper manufacturing process including the fundamentals of paper quality management.
What you'll do
Reporting to the Production Manager, key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the production team relevant to the area of responsibility to ensure efficient operation of the paper manufacturing process.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust workflow as necessary to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Conduct regular inspections of production process and equipment and coordinate maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure product standards are met.
- Train and develop production staff, fostering a team-oriented work environment.
- Analyse production data and prepare reports on production metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize production processes and resolve any issues that may arise.
What you’ll bring
- Relevant tertiary studies in engineering, manufacturing, or previous experience in operations
- Supervisory experience in a paper manufacturing environment or operations/production
- Strong knowledge of production management principles and practices.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proficient in using production management software and tools.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
