About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Partner – People & Culture to act as the trusted P&C lead for COPE Sensitive Freight across all sites nationally. Reporting to the National P&C Manager, this Melbourne‑based role partners closely with operational leaders to deliver practical, compliant people advice in a fast‑paced, high‑risk logistics environment.
You will bring strong generalist capability with deep expertise in employee and industrial relations, injury / fitness for work management, and payroll obligations, working closely with the broader Federal Group People & Culture function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide trusted people and culture advice to leaders and employees
- Lead complex ER/IR matters with a strong focus on fairness and compliance
- Manage injury and fitness for work matters with specialist support
- Act as the first point of escalation for people issues
- Partner with P&C, Payroll, TA, and Risk & Compliance teams
- Supervise and develop the Business Partner – People & Culture role
- Champion WHS, Chain of Responsibility, and regulatory compliance
- Interstate and Intrastate travel required as needed
Skills & Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources (essential); AHRI certification (desirable)
- Ideally 10+ years’ HR experience, including 5+ years in senior or specialist roles
- Strong ER/IR, injury management, and compliance background
- Proven experience partnering with operational leaders in complex environments
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and advisory skills
- Comfortable working within structured frameworks and escalation processes
- Resilient, analytical, detail‑focused, and values‑driven
