What you can expect in a day in this role: 

The Conference and Events Operations Manager leads the execution of conference and event operations, and contributes to the customer experience to ensure the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with Wrest Point’s strategic goals.    

This role is responsible for the effective planning and execution of all events, conferences, banquets, shows, meetings, social events, audio visual, set-up and breakdown, contractor, event related safety and risk management.   

As this role oversees our conference and events operations, we do require a span of hours and days in this full-time role to ensure strong support and leadership across the week. 

 

What you will bring to the role: 

You’ll bring experience working in Conference and Events Operations, confident in leading large teams of 20 people or more, to achieve a seamless guest experience. You will also bring to the role: 

  • Strong demonstrated experience in hospitality management and leadership 

  • Ability to work within budgets and report against targets 

  • Proven ability to provide high level customer service and resolve elevated customer issues 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage all administrative requirements of the department in line with business requirements 

  • Diploma level qualification in Hospitality operations or equivalent demonstrated working experience as well as a current Tasmanian recognised Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA). 

 An appointee to this role may be subject to pre-employment and ongoing screening checks.
