The Opportunity:

Here at EBOS Group we have an exciting and newly created opportunity for a highly motivated and proactive Legal Counsel to join our Legal Team based at our Head Office in the Docklands.

Reporting to our Head of Legal – Healthcare, you will assist the team to provide legal advice and support to the Healthcare Division across Australia and New Zealand. We are seeking a commercial lawyer with strong contractual drafting skills and significant experience managing competing work priorities. 

The role will have a strong focus on contract drafting and negotiation, as well as legal research and providing pragmatic, commercial, and timely advice on a variety of matters including legal aspects of distribution and logistics operations; competition matters, health regulatory matters, advertising, privacy and intellectual property.

As such your strong communication skills, ability to prioritise your workload and work within a fast-paced environment will be critical to success.

What you will do:        

  • Advise on, draft and negotiate a diverse range of contracts and agreements with suppliers, and customers from multinational pharmaceutical suppliers, government departments to individual customers;
  • Provide clear, effective and practical legal advice on a wide range of matters, as well as identifying and managing the legal issues with business initiatives;
  • Conduct legal research and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and industry standards;
  • Effectively collaborate with other members of the legal team and business to deliver practical solutions to mitigate legal risk while keeping business priorities at the forefront.

What we are looking for:

  • Law degree with a current unrestricted practicing certificate;
  • This role would suit a lawyer with 3-4+ years PQE in private practice and/or in-house legal teams (experience with international or well-regarded national law firms and/or in-house healthcare experience will be highly regarded);
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills;
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to assess risks and provide actionable recommendations;
  • Ability to manage competing priorities;
  • High level of initiative and willingness to support and assist.
