The Role:

Here at Symbion, we have a unique and exciting opportunity for an Assistant Category Business Manager (12 month contract) to join their team. In this role you will be responsible for providing co-ordination & administrative support for growing market share, volume and revenue across Symbion wholesale, Pharmacy Choice and healthSAVE members.

You will also work with the Merchandise team on all facets of the merchandise function, hence your strong communication & time management skills coupled with an ability to prioritise and manage stakeholders will be critical to your success.

What you will do:

  • Provide administrative support to assist in the delivery of key performance indicators.
  • Process wholesale queries and requirements including the ranging of new lines, new vendor creation, marketing opportunities, pricing and product maintenance;
  • Manage the preparation and accuracy of supplier promotional submissions via neXus portal;
  • Coordinate and manage merchandise queries with external and internal stakeholders;
  • Ensure the accuracy of the product and pricing data within the business system;
  • Conduct analysis and prepare reports for internal meetings and business reviews;
  • Ability to ensure all business areas are able to work together to meet critical timelines;
  • Assist in achievement of budgeted income through retail and trade promotions and supplier terms
  • Ensure supplier contact and billing lists are kept up to date and accurate
  • Ensure all documentation (trading terms, contracts, SOP and other) are prepared and filed in a consistent manner
  • Coordinate meetings and activities across the team as required
  • Involvement in all other areas pertaining to Merchandise as required by management.

What we are looking for:

  • Strong written & verbal communications skills
  • Time management and prioritisation skills
  • Structured, detailed and logical approach in handling suppliers and customer queries
  • A good understanding of retail market
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High level of numerical and analytical skills
  • High quality business acumen and be able to represent company professionally in all dealings
  • PC skills including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel
  • Experience in a similar role within the pharmacy industry would be advantageous
