FAQs

How do I access the PageUp form?

You can access PageUp via the Applications and Tools drop down menu on the Horizons homepage.

Can I update my transfer request application?

Yes, you can, you can edit your application at any time via Pageup. Just log into your  Pageup profile and click "edit application". You will also have the ability to withdraw your application.

What happens once I submit my request?

You will receive an email acknowledgement that your application has been received. It will be assessed together with other applications prior to planning placement of new recruits.

How is my request assessed?

Assessments will be conducted twice a year. While we endeavour to accommodate as many requests as possible, there are certain locations that attract a high degree of interest and therefore not all applications will be successful. When this occurs, requests will be assessed with consideration given to the following criteria:

• Work performance based on the Line Leader and/or Fire Commander feedback

• Alignment to Airservices Australia values

• Tenure at station

• Length of time since initial OTOE application

• Other personal circumstances

How will I be notified if successful?

Once the assessment process is complete, you will receive an email acknowledgement. Your Line Leader will coordinate with you regarding release dates from your current location. A formal letter of offer will then be prepared for you to sign

What do I need to do that’s different?

1. Requests are lodged via the PageUp system. Any other current mechanisms such as emailing your FC or Line Leader, will no longer be accepted.

2. Under the new process, applications for OTOE transfers will be valid for 12 months. If your application was unsuccessful during that time, we’ll notify you so you can submit a new transfer request via PageUp.

What happens to my application prior to the new process?

Any applications submitted prior to Wednesday 4 October will not be actioned. An application will be required to be submitted via Page Up.

Is my request assessed prior to the decision of placements for new recruits?

Yes. We are committed to ensuring that placement of OTOE transfers are based on a ratio of 3 internal applicants to 1 recruit , as per clause 71.7 of the Enterprise Agreement.

Does this new process apply to other vacancies and secondment opportunities?

Expressions of interest for vacancies such as FIFO positions will be advertised when required and the usual selection process es will apply. They are not part of this process.

Urgent compassionate requests of a compelling nature may be assessed on an adhoc basis in consideration of the following:

  1. Exceptional hardship that results from serious medical circumstances and/or the disabilities of an employee and/or that of an immediate family member, supported by relevant medical or other evidence; or
  2. Other compelling personal circumstances, supported by evidence that would satisfy a reasonable person if requested by Airservices.

How do I apply for an urgent compassionate transfer?

Applications must be submitted via the PageUp system, accompanied by relevant evidence. In addition, you must speak to your Line Leader to alert them of the urgent nature of your request, so it can be considered in a timely manner.

Will urgent compassionate transfers be assessed for any other reasons?

Reasons such as relocation due to lifestyle or non-urgent family circumstances (eg. my partner has a job elsewhere) will be considered as part of the standard OTOE transfer process.

Will urgent compassionate transfers only be reviewed twice a year?

No. These will be assessed on an adhoc basis, independent of the OTOE transfer process.

Do I need to reapply if my request is unsuccessful?

Your application will remain valid for the duration of the 12 month period. If you have not been successful during this period and are still interested in being considered for an OTOE transfer you will need to reapply the following year
