The Role & The Team:

As the Records Officer you will work with the Enabling Technology Platforms team to support and implement the work program being initiated by the Content Manager Team Leader in a professional and effective manner using considerable skills and experience.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:  

  • Assist in maintaining the records and recordkeeping systems for indexing, registering, storing, distributing, and retrieving of all corporate documents and files.
  • Assist in maintaining the hard copy and electronic file collection of organisational records in accordance with regulatory and legislative requirements.
  • Participate in the Airservices Records Management Maintenance Program including file audits and spot checks to ensure the integrity of the current Content Manager database.
  • System administration of content management systems (Content Manager, Library system, Orbit) and other databases (Australian Standards, RTCA).
  • Provide specialist advice and training to users at all levels of staff on records management practices.
  • Provide second level Help Desk support and customer service records management issues.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policy, procedures and systems that enhance the delivery of the records management and archives service and ensure consistency in operations and continuous improvement.
  • When required, perform appropriate level archival functions under the direction of the Content Manager Team Leader.
  • Conduct project related activities as directed by the Content Manager Team Leader including but not limited to digitalisation and sentencing and disposal.
  • Contribute to monthly statistical reports for the Content Manager Team Leader.
  • Manage subscriptions in consultation with customers and external suppliers.

The Person:

To be considered for this role you will have a proficient level of interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to build and maintain professional working relationships.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Sound knowledge of records management principles, practices, and standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of Content Manager and/or other EDRM systems.
  • Proven computer literacy and keyboard skills, especially Microsoft Excel and Word applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised, to prioritise tasks, manage workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Qualifications within the discipline field highly regarded.
