The Opportunity

CITIC Pacific Mining is currently looking for an experienced Electrical Leading Hand-Heavy Mobile Equipment to join our team on a permanent 2/1 continuous shift roster (days & nights), FIFO ex Perth.

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will be responsible for the general leadership of the Electrical Maintenance team (HV electricians and auto electricians). Manage the servicing, maintenance, and repair to a fleet of Electric Drive trucks, Caterpillar ancillary equipment, LeTourneau wheel Loaders and associated components.

In this role you’ll be responsible for:

• Providing assistance to the supervisor or planner on job estimations and work orders.
• Safety performance as measured by safety incidents and lead indicators, such as inspections and Safe Work Observations
• Control the service times of jobs.
• Ensuring all activities undertaken by employees and subcontractors are carried out in accordance with CPM’s policies and procedures.
• Ensuring that workshop tooling is returned to the tool storage area in a clean, safe, and useable condition.
• Providing instruction, assistance, direction and technical advice to all electrical tradespersons, apprentices, and trainees in the performance of their duties.
• WA Mines Safety and Inspections Act and Regulations are to be adhered to and specifically always demonstrate duty of care compliance.
• Completing hazard report forms for any hazards identified.
• Participating in safety incident reports and investigations where required.

Successful applicant will have:

• WA electrical workers license with 5+ years mining experience on mobile equipment.
• Extensive electric drive system experience
• Class ‘C’ motor vehicle licence or equivalent (HR preferred)
• Computing skills (Technical and diagnostic software)
• Work Safe License EWP, LF and safe working at heights.
• First aid, CPR and LV rescue.
• Advanced trade qualifications conducted by recognised training institutes. (Desirable)
