The Opportunity

Turning Point is seeking to appoint a dedicated and passionate Research Fellow with lived experience to work in partnership with the Self Help Addiction Resource Centre (SHARC) to build a research program examining the role of lived experience and peer models in shaping treatment and recovery services and community programs.

This position will also work closely with SHARC to develop its capacity in evaluating its own services and programs. The position also entails supporting the integration of lived experience voices into the Master of Addictive Behaviours and other Turning Point training courses.

Integral to this position is the development and maintenance of positive working relationships with internal and external researchers and active collaboration with government and other key stakeholders across health and other sectors.

We are seeking an early career researcher with a doctoral qualification in public health or a closely related health discipline with lived experience who can bring unique insights to the role.

What kind of lived experience are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have lived experience as a consumer of the addiction or mental health treatment system which they are willing/able to openly disclose as part of their work. They will have a minimum of 12 months of recovery/management of their addiction.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
