The Opportunity
The Assets Accounting team are seeking a casual Assets Accountant to deliver high-quality asset and financial accounting services. In this casual position, you’ll ensure the integrity of asset balances, contribute to year-end processes, provide expert technical accounting advice, and play an important role in improvement initiatives across our finance function.
This position will contribute to asset and financial accounting functions, including supporting the University’s month-end and year-end close-off procedures, preparing annual financial statements, and maintaining the integrity of the SAP Asset and Lease Registers. You will work across departments to provide timely financial analysis, technical accounting advice, and compliance reporting for internal and external stakeholders. In addition, you’ll support financial projects, ensure alignment with Australian Accounting Standards, and help enhance systems and processes, while fostering strong relationships across the Monash finance network to enable efficient and effective service delivery.
To be successful in this role you will have a degree in accounting or business, along with CA/CPA accreditation and substantial relevant experience. You’ll bring a strong working knowledge of SAP (or similar systems), particularly in asset management modules, and have a solid understanding of relevant legislation and accounting standards. Your analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to manage priorities will be key to your success, along with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
