The Opportunity

Join our team at Dandenong Hospital as a Level B Academic! We are seeking a dedicated Medical Student Academic Supervisor to contribute to a combination of teaching, assessment, pastoral care, and program coordination for Year 3 and 5 medical students. This is a unique opportunity to shape the next generation of medical professionals while advancing your academic career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in local teaching activities for Year 3B and 5D, including bedside teaching, placement activities, and lectures
  • Provide pastoral care and support to local students
  • Involvement in assessment processes, including clinical assessments during and at the end of the academic year
  • Participate in orientation activities and faculty committees
  • Work with other sites to ensure student satisfaction and academic excellence
  • Contribute to the SCS Year 3B large group education program, including lectures and PBLs

Key Selection Criteria:

  • A doctoral or master's qualification in a relevant discipline area or equivalent experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proven teaching experience in a tertiary environment, with a strong ability to motivate and engage students
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum and subject material development
  • Commitment to scholarly and research activities, with a strong track record of refereed research publications
  • Ability to work positively and cooperatively with students, internal and external teams, and external organisations
