The Opportunity
Are you passionate about scientific research and eager to contribute to groundbreaking studies on white blood cell development and function? The Lieschke Group at ARMI is seeking a dedicated and skilled Research Officer to join our dynamic team.
As a Research Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operations and research activities of the Lieschke Group. You will assist in conducting experiments, managing laboratory administration, and maintaining zebrafish fish stocks. Your contributions will ensure our laboratory remains a compliant and safe research environment, focusing on excellence in processes and sound judgment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and support research activities, including experiment administration, data collection, and analysis
- Stay updated with developments in the field by liaising with staff, reading relevant literature, and attending seminars
- Prepare documentation, reports, and conduct literature reviews
- Comply with established research methodologies, policies, protocols, OHS, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in continuous improvement activities for research and technical procedures
Key Selection Criteria
- Strong analytical, technical, and data analysis skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated project administration capabilities
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail and understanding of confidentiality and privacy principles
- Proficient communication skills, particularly in drafting documentation
- High computer literacy and ability to learn new software
- Experience in genetics, zebrafish handling, or aquatic research is highly desirable
