Remuneration: $169,553 - $186,788 pa Level D / $218,408 pa Level E (plus 17% employer superannuation)

The Opportunity

In a groundbreaking initiative, Monash University has been selected by the Victorian Government to deliver the Paramedic Practitioner Program in collaboration with other partners to enhance primary healthcare delivery across rural and regional Victoria. This visionary program aims to introduce highly trained Paramedic Practitioners into the health system, enhancing community care and reducing hospitalisations.

Role Overview

As the Associate Professor/Professor - Implementation Lead, you will spearhead the activation and long-term sustainability of this transformative program. Working closely with Ambulance Victoria, the Department of Health, Safer Care Victoria (SCV) and other stakeholders, you will drive strategic initiatives to enable implementation and integration into the healthcare system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership, fostering excellence in teaching, research, and professional activities within the Monash University Department of Paramedicine
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to advance the Paramedic Practitioner model of care, contributing through scholarly activities and research
  • Lead efforts in securing research grants, supervising projects, and nurturing research links to enhance program visibility and impact
  • Build and maintain crucial relationships with national and international partners to enrich clinical placements and student opportunities
  • Ensure program compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements, guiding continuous improvement initiatives

Key Selection Criteria

  • Doctoral qualification in Paramedicine or related field, with current registration as a Paramedic
  • Internationally recognized expertise in Community Paramedicine/Paramedic Practitioner programs
  • Proven leadership and communication skills, with a track record of stakeholder engagement and strategic influence
  • Strong publication record and experience securing external funding for research
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale projects and supervise academic staff effectively
