Expressions of Interest in Sessional Teaching Opportunities - Faculty of Arts
Monash is committed to the creation of pathways to more secure fixed-term and continuing employment, where this is appropriate for the individual situation and work category.
There are circumstances where sessional employment will be required, and we will continue to engage and renew sessional academic staff where it is determined to be the most appropriate mode of employment, aligned with the new definition in the Closing Loopholes Act and our job security commitments.
The Faculty of Arts is now seeking expressions of interest for potential sessional work opportunities in Semester 2, 2026.
If you wish to be considered for sessional academic work in Semester 2, 2026, please express your interest by submitting an application via the “Apply” button as outlined below.

NEW STAFF (who do not hold a valid Terms of Engagement from 2025 or Semester 1, 2026): If you did not complete an Expression of Interest (EOI) for Semester 1 teaching, please do so. This will allow us to better understand your specific teaching interests and experience, helping us to align them with potential needs across our teaching. (If you have already submitted an EOI for 2026, there is no need to re-submit unless you would like to update your application).

CURRENT SESSIONAL STAFF (who hold a valid Terms of Engagement for 2026): There is no requirement for you to update your existing EOI. However, if there are changes to your personal details, you are welcome to refresh your records to ensure they remain up to date.
Please note that submitting an EOI does not guarantee sessional work in Semester 2, 2026.
You will receive a confirmation message upon submission of your registration, and will be contacted further if:

sessional work becomes available that aligns with your specific teaching interests, experience, and disciplinary background, and

your application is successful and a tutor coordinator wishes to pursue your registration.
