The Opportunity
The role of the Senior SAP Functional Analyst is to apply a holistic approach with decision-making confidence to support the successful delivery of moderate to major impact enhancement projects, ensuring that throughout a project lifecycle, the solution delivered considers all configuration and parameters affecting and interfacing with the University’s Enterprise Resource Planning System(s) (ERP). The Senior SAP Functional Analyst is senior liaison point between the Development team and the Architects for Commercial off the shelf (COTS) and/or ERP system related designs.
To be successful in this role the ideal candidate will have
- Specialist knowledge and experience in at least one functional area or module of a COTS and/or ERP system, and recognition as being a leading specialist in configuration in the specialty area
- Demonstrated experience across the software development life-cycle, including proven involvement in estimation and business case development, systems specification and design
- Proficient ability in undertaking requirements analysis using functional decomposition, interface analysis, process modelling, prototyping and structured walkthrough techniques along with skills in planning and monitoring activities in order to complete functional analysis and problem diagnosis using a holistic approach including process modelling
- Knowledgeable in systems interface and integration in complex legacy environments involving mainframe transaction processing, web delivery, message integration and data warehousing components
- Outstanding relationship management and communication skills, including the ability to interact, influence, and effectively negotiate with individuals at all levels and with varying levels of IT literacy
- Broad exposure to multiple development methodologies and experience with both packaged and custom built software
